Family, friends, and members of the South Salt Lake community are mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of Tag Fowers, who lost his life Tuesday afternoon following a motorcycle crash in South Salt Lake.
According to South Salt Lake police, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:46 p.m. near 3300 South and 200 East. Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a Mazda CX-9. When emergency crews arrived, they found the motorcyclist suffering from severe injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Loved ones later identified the victim as Tag Fowers.
The driver of the Mazda sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities reported that those injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Following the crash, 3300 South was temporarily closed between State Street and 300 East while investigators processed the scene and worked to determine the circumstances that led to the collision. The roadway was later reopened after the investigation at the scene was completed.
