David Grossman Obituary, Death: In Loving Memory of David Grossman

David Grossman passed away, leaving family, friends, and all who knew him mourning the loss of a remarkable life. His death has brought profound sadness to those whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the people he loved.

It is with profound sadness and overwhelming grief we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved son and brother, David Joseph Grossman, has been called home to heaven.
David died on Thursday, May 28th due to a sudden medical event while serving at his internship at the Abilene Hunger Coalition & Highland Food Pantry.
Only 21 years old, he was a one-of-a-kind force who made a significant impact on the lives of many. His presence could not be denied. Faith-filled and funny, his vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed. He was a constant source of humor, the brightest and most hilarious light in every room.
He loved deeply. As one friend shared, “David truly was an example of what a man of God looked like. A gift who embodied and reflected the Lord.”
This story exemplifies the young man he was: “I was good friends with David and wanted to share one time out of many he reflected the love of Jesus. On parent’s weekend, I got into an argument and was deeply saddened, crying outside alone. Then, your family shows up. David sees me crying, gives me a hug, and asks what’s wrong. He listened, then wept out of pure love and sympathy. I’ll remember that for the rest of my life. Afterwards, he introduced me to you guys, and you were so loving. I could see where he got that love from and how to love like that. With the love that shines through you, I know the Lord is with you, too. Your son’s light burned so bright with Christ. Thank you for the gift that David has been in our lives.”
David just completed his junior year as a Bible and Ministry major at Abilene Christian University. He was a beloved presence in the ACU community, and we’re certain he’s celebrating in heaven.
On Sunday, June 7th, a vigil/celebration of life will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Austin at 7pm. His funeral will be held on Monday, June 8th at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor David’s memory through a contribution to the David Grossman Memorial Scholarship at ACU
